Their business success traces its humble beginning when the couple started to open a small refilling station in Bontoc Southern Leyte, just in front the ancestral house of May S. Abo. When Ranulfo A. Abo, who is now the President/CEO of the company, decided to resign from his job as salesman, he and his wife May S. Abo, now the Vice-President/COO decided to open a restaurant business in the Bus Terminal of Sogod Southern Leyte, a town adjacent to Bontoc. This was the first branch and due to its strategic location, the business was successful. When Gaisano Capital Group opened its mall in Sogod, there was impending threat of its existing market share which might eventually slow down the business. But the couple believes that such threat should be an opportunity for them to expand, hence the couple decided to negotiate the Gaisano management to lease portion of the mall, and this was eventually made as their second branch and was opened on June 10, 2012. The third branch was opened in Gaisano Tisa located at F. Llamas St., Labangon, in Cebu City and was established last September 28, 2013. This was not the last branch they open instead this was the stepping stone for the couple to open more branches Visayas area like opening Princemall – Abuyog at Loyonsawang, Abuyog in Leyte; Gaisano Capital SRP at Talisay City in Cebu; Princemall – Bayawan in Negros Oriental; Princemall Isabel located at Quezon St., Isabel in Leyte; Prince Hypermart Tanjay in Negros Oriental; and the newly open Gaisano Capital Danao, and Gaisano Capital Casuntingan in Mandaue City last May 2016, as their tenth branch.
From being a single proprietorship, it was transferred into a Corporation last December 11, 2014. The business was built through the undying efforts and perseverance of the couple. From their pretty income together with their strong determination and the power of their savings perspective applied in life, the couple’s became financially stabled that made them linked into business world.
