Kookel’s was first started at GSIS Subdivision, McArthur Highway, Matina, Davao City in 1995. At the time of its opening, the lechon manok business was considered a “fad” business and only a handful of lechon manok businesses was operating in Davao City.

Kookel’s Kooking Inc. was originally called Kookel’s Lechon Manok and Sinugbang Panga which the name suggests, were the first two products we sold. Due to its authentic Filipino taste, Kookel’s Lechon Manok was easily accepted by the market and customers were queuing daily at the first branch.

Kookel’s opened their second branch at Peace Ave. Bangkal, Davao City and added the Pork Liempo to their products.

The public took notice and long lines of buyers was a daily fare at Kookel’s. The owners saw the opportunity to innovate and provide the public with more products and eventually conceptualize and launched the “Kooking” concept which offers “short” orders such as Filipino noodles and other FIlipino dishes.

Product awards consistently awarded Kookel’s to be the number one Lechon Manok in Davao City and Kookel’s ever since has been a hall of famer awardee of Philippine Marketing Excellence Awards, Philippine Quality Awards for Business Excellence and National Shoppers’ Choice Awards.

Also, Kookel’s has ventured into the restaurant business operating Kookel’s Filipino Restaurant, Kookel’s Catering Services, Le Kook Chicken House, Red Rooster Rooftop Bar and Don Juan Bar. Kookel’s also appeared on various national and local television segment featuring the lechon manok and other products.

From opening a single branch, the Davao homegrown brand has become one of the most recognizable food take out service in Davao City.   • Koolkel’s offers for Cities and Provinces nationwide Area Franchises, which can to be operated from kiosks or stores.

  • Including the rights to open two (2) outlets, which have to be in operation within 12 months. Additional outlets can be opened by Franchisee within granted area.
